Bhutan Flag
Bhutan’s flag is a diagonal split with a white Druk (thunder dragon) spanning the center. Dragon plus yellow/orange diagonal is enough for most rounds.
How to identify the Bhutan flag
- Field divided diagonally from the lower hoist to the upper fly: yellow above the diagonal, orange below.
- A large white dragon lies along the diagonal, facing the fly, clutching jewels in its claws.
- No stars, crescents, or Nordic crosses — if you see a full dragon across a two-tone diagonal, it is Bhutan.
Colors
Yellow (upper triangle from the hoist-top side of the diagonal) and orange (lower). White for the dragon and jewels only.

- Nepal – Fellow Himalayan flag with strong symbolism, but Nepal is non-rectangular crimson pennons — not a dragon on a rectangle.
- Sri Lanka – Also features a large animal (lion) but on a yellow-bordered maroon field with leaf shapes — not a diagonal dragon.
- Wales (not in this quiz set) – A red dragon on white/green is a UK constituent flag; Bhutan’s dragon is white on yellow/orange.
